Manufactured Homes
Factory-built on steel frames to a U.S. Federal standard known as the HUD Code, these single story homes are towed to site in sections on wheels by a "wide load" permit truck.
They're set-up on a non-permanent foundation and, if required, can be moved to another location in the future. Prior to the adopton of the HUD Code in 1976 these homes were referred to as mobile homes. Since then, they've become manufactured homes. Visit a sales center to see why these attractive homes are the lowest cost per square foot, and the greatest housing value. Explore floor plans. » Triple Double Single wide.
Modular Homes
Modular homes are also built in factories and are subject to state and local building codes. They're transportated on flat bed trucks to site. While HUD-approved manufactured homes can cross state lines, modular homes do not cross state lines unless state-approved inspection arrangements are made at the factory.
Set on a permanent foundation, modular homes can be single story or more, with home sections placed using a crane. We sell modular homes, which are less expensive to construct than site-built homes, but can look virtually the same inside and out. Some consumers inaccurately refer to modular and manufactured homes as prefab homes, a non-industry term.
Park Model Homes
Classified as a recreational vehicle that is transportable, park model homes are primarily designed for placement at a destination rather than towed back-and-forth. Because of their 12-foot width, they are hauled on wheels by "wide load" permit trucks. These RV homes must remain under 400 sq. ft. Yes, we sell park models. » Park Model Floor Plans. .
Travel Trailer Recreation vehicles towed by a sutiable pick-up truck, SUV or van, are travel trailers, or are motor homes if they move under their own power. We do not sell trailers and they are not in the same class as foundation-placed manufactured or modular homes.
